A Russian Proverb???
I just finished reading the text of Obama's AIPAC speech. At the very end He says,
"There is no shortage of speeches on the friendship between the United States and Israel. But I’m also mindful of the proverb, “A man is judged by his deeds, not his words.” So if you want to know where my heart lies, look no further than what I have done - to stand up for Israel; to secure both of our countries and to see that the rough waters of our time lead to a peaceful and prosperous shore."
Now, I know my Bible and I do not recall the proverb He is quoting. So I looked, and looked, and looked, and I could not find it. I thought it must be a proverb from some other source and I searched it out. Turns out, it is a Russian proverb. Really? Who uses a Russian proverb at AIPAC? Did anyone else question this quote? Did any Bible reading Jew take notice? Why?
The word deeds is listed in the KJV 33 times in 33 verses. Any true believer in Jesus knows that we are not judged by our deeds. Only those whose names are not written in the Lamb's Book of Life will be judged by their works.

A man is not judged by his words? Jesus tells us tells us differently.
